Fostering collaboration between research institutions and industry is a key priority of the DataTwin project. The project supports knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement through thematic seminars and workshops aimed at strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors.

On 15 October 2026, Automotive Cluster Bulgaria and GATE Institute jointly organised an online webinar entitled “Data Spaces: How & Why? / Catena-X”. The event brought together business representatives to explore how secure data sharing can accelerate digital transformation and improve collaboration across automotive supply chains.

During the webinar, Dr. Atanas Stavrev from GATE Institute introduced the key principles and practical applications of data spaces, focusing on Catena-X, a European automotive data ecosystem enabling secure and standardised data exchange. The presentation highlighted opportunities for improved traceability, quality management, and digital integration between companies.

The event demonstrated the importance of connecting scientific expertise with industry needs, reflecting DataTwin's commitment to facilitating knowledge transfer and public–private cooperation. It provided an opportunity for businesses to explore innovative data-sharing solutions and identify potential areas for collaboration with research organisations.

The topic is particularly relevant for Bulgarian automotive companies seeking to strengthen their integration into international supply chains. Eligible companies may benefit from combined European funding of approximately €20,000–€25,000 to support their adoption of Catena-X.

Through knowledge-sharing initiatives of this kind, DataTwin contributes to bridging the gap between research and industry, encouraging innovation, digital connectivity, and the practical application of data-driven technologies.
