The DataTwin project officially started with a two-day online kick-off meeting held at the beginning of July. The event brought together representatives from GATE Institute, Insight Centre for Data Analytics in Ireland, and SINTEF in Norway to align on the project’s goals and lay the groundwork for collaboration.
Day 1 focused on introducing the project’s objectives and structure, highlighting partner involvement in related initiatives, and outlining the initial plan for the first phase of implementation. Discussions also covered project management, communication strategies, impact planning, and coordination mechanisms to ensure smooth cooperation among all partners.
Day 2 was dedicated to the project’s research agenda, exploring interoperability in data spaces and identifying synergies across technical, semantic, organizational, and legal dimensions. Partners shared their ongoing work in these areas and planned capacity building, research activities, and strategic collaborations to advance the project’s objectives.
The successful kick-off meeting established a shared understanding of the project’s objectives and a solid foundation for collaboration among the partner institutions. Over the next months, the consortium will focus on launching the initial work packages, strengthening research capacity, and engaging with relevant data space initiatives at the European level.
