About DataTwin

DataTwin is a Horizon Europe project led by GATE Institute at Sofia University, together with partners from Ireland and Norway. Over the next three years, the project will strengthen Bulgaria’s role in Europe’s digital future by building research excellence in data spaces and interoperability.

The team will create a new research group, launch joint projects in areas like cities, mobility, health, and agriculture, and provide training, hackathons, and summer schools for young researchers and professionals.

By connecting science, policy, and society, DataTwin helps unlock the potential of secure and trusted data sharing—paving the way for smarter, fairer, and more innovative solutions across Europe.
